Benefits for Salaried Canadian Employees
Compuware Corporation supports full-time salaried Canadian employees
with comprehensive benefits to help balance their professional and personal
lives. Employees are eligible for Compuware's comprehensive benefit program,
which includes coverage for drug, health, vision, dental, life and disability.
Additionally, Compuware offers a global employee stock purchase plan and
access to an employee assistance program.
Drug/Health/Vision Benefits
The drug, health and vision plan provides coverage to employees and their
family with no annual deductibles. Covered health charges include, but
are not limited to, semi-private hospitalization, out-of-Canada medical
emergency, emergency travel assistance, ambulance, private duty nursing,
medical equipment and supplies, dental care for accidental injury, chiropractor,
physiotherapist, massage therapist, osteopath, podiatrist, psychologist,
dietician, speech therapist, Naturopath, acupuncture, diagnostic laboratory,
x-rays, hearing care, etc. The Pay-Direct Drugs will cover 90% of the
drug and dispensing fees. Employees will pay 10%, with a minimum of $5.00
and a maximum of $75.00. The vision plan provides one standard eye exam
per 24 months and coverage for lenses, frames, and contacts up to $200
in 24 months. A modest employee contribution is required to participate
in the Drug, Health and Vision plan.
Dental Benefits
The dental plan provides coverage to employees and their family with
no annual deductibles. Preventative and minor restorative treatments (root
canals, gum treatments, denture maintenance and oral surgery, etc) are
covered at 100%. Major treatments like dentures, crowns and bridgework
are payable at 80%. The annual maximum benefit is $2,000 per individual
per calendar year. Orthodontic services are covered at 50% with a lifetime
maximum benefit of $2,000 per individual. A modest employee contribution
is required to participate in the Dental plan.
Life, Accidental Death & Dismemberment, and Dependent Life Insurance
Compuware provides each employee with basic life, accidental death &
dismemberment (AD&D), and dependent life insurance at no cost. Basic life
and AD&D are equal to two times an employee's annual basic earnings, up
to a maximum of $750,000. Dependent life insurance provides $10,000 of
coverage for a spouse and $5,000 of coverage for each child. Employees
also have the opportunity to purchase additional coverage for themselves
and their family.
Short and Long-Term Disability Coverage
Compuware provides short-term disability coverage to all full-time salaried
employees at no cost. Short-term disability coverage provides base salary
continuation in the event an employee is deemed totally disabled due to
injury or illness. During the first 30 days of an approved disability
coverage is equal to 100% of base salary. Salary continuance for total
disability from the 31st day of disability through the 90th day is covered
at 66 2/3% of base salary. Long-term disability provides 60% of base salary,
up to a maximum of $10,000 per month (tax-free) if the total disability
extends beyond 90 days. Employees are required to pay the long-term disability
premium.
Employee Assistance Program (EAP)
Compuware provides employees and their immediate family members access
to an EAP. The EAP is a voluntary, confidential, short-term counseling
and advisory service that connects employees and their immediate family
members to a network of dedicated professionals who are available 24 hours
a day, 365 days a year.
Vacation
Canadian full-time salaried employees with less than five years of service
will accrue three weeks of vacation time per year. The amount of vacation
an employee will be eligible for in their first year of employment will
depend upon their date of hire during the fiscal year. After completing
five years of service, these employees will accrue four weeks of vacation
time per year. Part time employees accrue vacation time in accordance
with current Employment/Labour Laws in the Province of employment.
Holidays
Compuware will offer Canadian statutory holidays for employees which
include: New Year's Day, Good Friday, Victoria Day, Canada Day, Labour
Day, Thanksgiving Day, and Christmas Day. In addition, statutory holidays
specific to a province will be recognized as well.
Global Employee Stock Purchase Plan
Designed to provide Compuware employees worldwide with the opportunity
to share success of the company through equity ownership, this plan provides
employees with convenient access to Compuware stock at discounted share
prices, and low transaction fees.
Employee Referral Bonus
An employee may be eligible to receive a bonus for a referral that results
in a professional or managerial level salaried hire.

employees in their quest for knowledge and enhanced skills. Compuware
views learning as a continuous activity and provides busy IT professionals
with business-critical knowledge and development through several offerings.
E-Learning Program
Compuware offers its IT professionals access to broad coverage of today's
relevant technologies and IT skills through its e-learning provider, SkillSoft,
e-learning resources. This offering includes a library of over
1000 technical courses, providing several thousand hours of course instruction
in six solution areas: software development, operating systems and server
technologies, network technologies, enterprise database systems, web design
and project effectiveness. Employees have access to thousands of online
books from Books24x7, and can use any of the 50 practice certification
exams for leading IT industry certification exams.
This offering also provides more than 700 interactive multi-path simulation
experiences, an on-line technical library, chat forums of like technology
expertise, mentoring, and individual designed learning plans. Through
this program, via a single search, Compuware IT Professionals can identify
all types of content available to them on a given topic, including courses,
on-line books and referenceware, simulations, practice industry certification
exams, on-line and live mentors, express guides, skill briefs and job
aids, as well as custom content developed exclusively for Compuware. Learning
events can be easily accessed anywhere, anytime through, SkillPort, SkillSoft
learning management platform. This platform allows for 24-hour availability
of learning activities.
Compuware Product Education
Education on Compuware products is available via instructor-led education
at Compuware's branches and via WebEx. In addition to course delivery
during the day, evening and some Saturday classes can be arranged for
assigned Professional Services staff. All classes can be tailored to meet
a specific group's needs.
Certifications
Compuware recognizes the importance of industry certifications to IT
professionals. Upon passing, Compuware provides reimbursement for industry
certification exams that are related and relevant to Compuware's business.
In addition to industry certifications, Compuware also offers it's own
Certification Program, which consists of four levels for career development
for our IT Professionals. Those levels are Compuware Certified Technician,
Compuware Senior Certified Technician, Compuware Information Systems Consultant
and Compuware Fellows. Compuware's Certification Program is designed for
employees to demonstrate and add to their technical and professional skills.
The aim of the program is to:
- Provide a learning path for technical employees with access to the
latest technologies
- Educate employees on specific Compuware products
- Assess skills relative to industry and company standards
- Illustrate value to customers (marketing advantage - "our staff are
certified professionals")
